What She Has Whooping Cough Or Croup ?

It has almost been  a week now and i feel sorry for her, my baby girl. So pity looking at her coughing like an adult. she's only 3months old but have to feel the whooping cough pain.Although this condition is something unwanted even we tried to avoid every cause it is uncontrollable. She still  have it almost a week now. We had taken her to the paediatrician and taken a prescription of antibiotic .This whooping cough or croup makes her lost the lovely sleep and feeding appetite. She even vomit sometimes after feeds.

Whooping cough or best known as pertussis ( the microorganism name ) happen when the bacteria infect of the  below airway breathing parts  .The cough sounds persistently and like the person are chocking.Usually child are immune to this symptom after taken immunisation injection between 6 months to six years old.Pertussis will cause symptom of  flu fever for a week or two and after that the cough be getting worsen and a child will be having a fast breathing. This can cause lack of oxygen intake in inhale process. Pertussis can also lead to seizure and encephalopathy (brain inflammation) in the young. Actually pertussis can be severe not only to a child but also to adults as the persistent coughing can cause lost of breath.Seek for doctor advice if you having a cough more than 2 weeks or have consistent for longer period of time. As for a child bring them immediately to paediatrician . An antibiotic treatment might work out for the case. If it still persistent get an extra treatment for our love one.

Another type of coughing is Croup ( also known as laryngotracheobronchitis). It sounds like barking cough and hoarseness. It is a virus infection of the upper airway. It started with flu fever and worsen during night. Croup usually gone after a few days and need not a special treatment.Croup can be recognized by inhale hot water steamed and then stay in a cold place. Some specialist believe that  by expansion and contraction of airway can resolved cough. If it doesn't than it is better to seek for treatment to avoid pneumonia or asthma.

Now it has been for two days my baby taken the antibiotic treatment and her condition looks getting better . We hope it is not something severe infecting her.Although I still stay late up at night to observe her condition.
